The difference we make

Having access to glasses is something many of us take for granted.  Unfortunately there are millions of people globally who cannot afford glasses.

Every pair of reading glasses or sunglasses you purchase enables us to provide a pair to someone in need in Outback Australia and around the world.  Our glasses have been distributed in Vanuatu, Fiji, Ethiopia, India, and remote Western Australia. We will continue to broaden our horizons in providing this essential service.

World Health Organisation have interesting statistics on the number of people globally affected by vision impairment.

We are building a dedicated Ophthalmic Gene Therapy Centre in Tasmania to enable Professor Alex Hewitt in his vision to provide treatment and research of genetic eye diseases.  It will be the first of its kind in Australia and will provide treatment for inherited diseases that cause devastating blindness.
