Professor Brendan Vote spoke to members of the public regarding proposed MBS Tasforce changes in Ulverstone and Launceston on 30th and 31st of October. If approved these changes will affect all patients in Australia that have intravitreal injections. An intravitreal injection is a treatment to control Wet Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), Diabetic Macular Oedema (DMO) and Retinal Vein Occlusions (RVO). These changes if accepted will impact both insured and uninsured patients. The attendance of over 300 members of the public indicates the concern they have for this very complex issue. Further information about the proposed changes and how your voice can be heard are available on our Proposed Government Changes to Intravitreal Injections.
